I have some simple and effective methods for repairing cracked tiles. I would like to share them with you.
Step 1: Use resin glue to paste the broken part of the porcelain Tiles
Before splicing, wipe the broken part of the porcelain with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol. Determine the position of each porcelain piece in the whole shape according to the thickness of the porcelain piece and the decoration on it. When splicing, pay attention to whether there is a height difference at the lower joint by hand or tool, and then prepare resin glue to bond the porcelain pieces. Apply as little glue as possible at the place where the two pieces are pasted to prevent the gap from being too large and deforming.
After splicing, temporarily fix it with hot melt glue. After the adhesive is completely cured, scrape off the hot melt glue with a scalpel.
Step 2: polishing
Mix resin glue and add porcelain powder to the incomplete part for matching. Use the prepared putty to scrape the uneven places and the gaps at the splicing. After the putty is cured, use water sand to polish from coarse to fine. Touch the porcelain with your fingers until you can’t feel any convexity, and then polish it.
Step 3: Spraying
Acrylic resin paint is mixed with mineral pigments to the same color as the object. Use a spray brush and a small air pump to color. The nozzle of the spray brush should be aimed at the part that needs to be colored, and it should not be sprayed on the original glaze. The joint between the broken part and the original porcelain can be covered with a finger width to achieve a perfect street connection effect. When spraying the color, you need to cover the color layer by layer, and try to make the color transparent, not dull, with changes and layers. After the color is applied, let it dry naturally.
Step 4: Apply a layer of gloss glaze
After the color is dry, you need to apply a layer of gloss glaze on the color to enhance the gloss and luster of the color to achieve the effect of ceramic glaze. If the gloss is too high, you can use metallographic sandpaper to deglaze the imitation glaze.
