Look at the color and texture

Check the temperature
Touch the surface of the stone with your hand. Natural marble is usually cooler than room temperature because it has better thermal conductivity. Artificial stone is close to room temperature because it is mainly composed of resin and stone powder.
Look at the edge of the stone
The edge of natural marble usually has some natural cracks and irregularities, while the edge of artificial stone is smoother and more consistent.
Use acidic liquid test
Be cautious of the first drop of lemon juice or acetic acid on the surface of the stone. If the stone is damaged or faded, it may be artificial stone because natural marble is more sensitive to acidic liquids.
Fire test
You can use a lighter to do a fire test. If the surface of the stone changes color due to heat, it may be artificial stone. Natural marble will not be significantly affected.
